Collection: It is well

Laura Tan, artist: This verse, to me, isn't about a fleeting calmness, but about a deeper interior robustness and resilience, born from trusting in God's unwavering love. I see this same resilience in our mangrove swamps and how they bear the brunt of storms, steadfast and unshaken. This piece is a reminder to seek that inner place of strength in God, even when turbulent times loom large on the horizon.

About the artist: Laura creates art that celebrates the specifics of our everyday lives. Inspired by Gerard Manley Hopkins’ poem “Pied Beauty”, she believes that God can be found in all things - even in our Southeast Asian tropical reality, and even in things “counter, original, spare, strange.” With a focus on detailed linework and layered colours, she aims to capture the unique ways in which the divine is revealed in everyday moments.
